Troubleshooting Instagram integration

Published:
Updated:

  1. Conflicting Connections: If your Instagram is currently connected to other platforms, disconnect them before trying to connect to ReplyAgent.
  2. Facebook Page Connection: Your Instagram business account needs to be linked to a Facebook Page. You can check this by going to your Instagram profile settings and looking for the "Business Information" section. If it's not linked, you'll need to connect it to an existing Facebook Page or create a new one.
  3. Messaging Permissions: Both on Facebook and Instagram, you'll need to grant ou platform permission to access your messages. In Facebook, go to your Business Page settings and check "Allow Access to Instagram Messages in Inbox" under Instagram settings. On Instagram, go to your profile settings, navigate to "Messages and story replies" and under "Message controls" enable "Allow Access to Connected Tools".
  4. Account Type: Our platform can only integrate with Instagram accounts of type "Creator" or "Business". Personal accounts are not supported by Meta. To switch your account type, you can follow the official Instagram guidelines.
  5. Meta Security: Meta can be strict with Instagram connections. Here's an alternative solution, but use it with caution: You can add someone you trust as an admin to your Facebook Business Manager account (ideally from a different IP address) and have them attempt the integration with our platform on your behalf.
  6. Password Update: If you recently changed your Instagram password, you'll need to refresh the integration permissions within our platform:
